What this usually means
Tiguan EPC and limp-mode faults can come from boost leaks, diverter valve, wastegate actuator, throttle body or sensor faults. Do not guess a turbo replacement without a scan plus smoke/boost leak test.
What to ask the workshop before approving repair
- • Show the diagnostic fault codes.
- • Show photo/video proof of the failed part.
- • Give an itemised quote for parts and labour.
- • Explain why cheaper common fixes were ruled out.
- • Use/confirm: ODIS
- • Use/confirm: VCDS
- • Use/confirm: Smoke tester
This is not a final diagnosis. It is a money-saving checklist before you go workshop.
